Since the 4th grade I've known my professional journey would be within a creative industry. It was however an elective requirement in my 2nd year of college that established my career trajectory by introducing me to "Computer Art" softwares. Instantly hooked by the
possibilities the various programs & techniques allowed it took several years to find an accredited Associates of Science degree program in Visual Communications. Determined to stay current with creative trends & explore additional professional avenues I earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Graphic Design & Masters of Fine Arts degrees in New Media Design, via online programs later in my vocational journey. Earning several Course Director awards & being honored as the Salutatorian Award Recipient for both graduation classes.
From the onset I saw the value in working for boutique local agencies & pre-press shops over traditional large agencies. They afforded me the opportunity to contribute in conceptualizing creative directions for agency client projects, participate in project meetings, be engaged during pre-press checks & event launches. These invaluable firsthand experiences taught me the importance of listening to client needs, the worth of asking the right consultation questions & usefulness of research in developing effective design solutions. Lessons I continue to apply to every graphic design project I am fortunate to work &/or collaborate on no matter the size or budget.
I am grateful that I am able to utilize the skills & experiences I've gained throughout my graphic design career to produce from concept through production creative solutions that often exceed my employers branding, promotional, packaging, production, event &/or corporate targeted objectives.
